Offer Yourself Again and Again

It is good that you should renew the offering of yourself to Our Lord; it is a necessity of love. The beloved offers herself again and again to her lover, and so must you offer yourself again and again to the love of the Heart of Jesus, so as to live in a constant state of offering and of openness to His love for you.

Reparation

Has He called you to a life of reparation? Very few souls understand that a creature can console her God, and that God should desire the consolation of a mere creature, even of one created in His image and likeness.

Created for Infinite Love

God is Love and the Source of all Love, and the life of the Most Holy Trinity is a circulation of living Love that is perfect, complete, and utterly sufficient unto itself. But this same Love was poured out in creation and, in creating man, the Word gave Himself a being capable of receiving His infinite Love and of responding to it with a love like unto His own. Man cannot contain infinite Love, but he can be contained by it and lifted up into its current of life, sharing in the life of the Most Holy Trinity by means of union with the Son, and by the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thus does the Father see in every soul united to the Son by grace the one Object of His eternal Love and the reflection of His Face.

Priests, Victims, Friends, Consolers

From among these brothers of His, sons of the Eternal Father, sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, Jesus chooses some in whom He desires to reproduce His victimal priesthood. These He chooses to drink of His chalice and to ascend with Him the altar of the Cross by offering His sacrifice day after day in the sacramental form that He left to His Church on the night before He suffered. These priests of His are also the friends whom He chooses to enter into the sorrows of His Heart and to console Him through the ages.

Divine Affliction

When His love is spurned, when the gift of His Body and Blood is not recognized (discerned), when it is not received worthily and adored by loving and grateful hearts, Our Lord suffers a divine affliction. That is to say that He is wounded in Love, wounded in His Heart. He looks to His beloved priests to console Him and to make up for the coldness, the cruel indifference, the ingratitude, and the irreverence that He suffers hidden in the Sacrament of My Love.

Console Him in His Suffering

There is a consolation that only Jesus' priests sojourning on earth, in the valley of the shadow of death, can offer Him. Only those who live for the altar and from the altar can give Him the consoling and adoring Love that delivers Him from the sorrow that constrains His Sacred Heart.

This is a mystery, a mystery of Love: that He am who is all-glorious and the source of heaven's glory and bliss should, nonetheless, suffer the effects of man's refusal to respond to His Eucharistic Love with love.

Adoration, Reparation, Healing for Priests

Our Lord asks His priests to offer themselves as victims of adoration and reparation to His offended and outraged Eucharistic Love. Remember the Reproaches of the Good Friday liturgy that express so well His Heart's sorrows and His grievances against His people. Who will come forward to offer Him a kiss, not of betrayal, but of faithful love and of consolation? This is the privilege, first of all, of Our Lord's beloved priests. He has chosen His priests to live this mysterious vocation of adoration and reparation. It is not difficult to carry out what He has asked of us. Give Him your presence. Offer Him your companionship. Abide in the radiance of His Eucharistic Face. Offer yourself to His Eucharistic Heart to be loved, and transformed, and used as an instrument of love and of healing for all His priests, your brothers.
